Dr. Hartmut Klusik
Member of the Board of Management of Bayer HealthCare AG and Head of Product Supply
Dr. Hartmut Klusik has been a member of Bayer HealthCare’s Executive Committee and responsible for the newly created Product Supply function at Bayer HealthCare (BHC) since July 5, 2005. Effective November 1, 2005, he has been appointed a member of the Board of Management of Bayer HealthCare AG.
Hartmut Klusik was born in Niederwald, Germany, on July 30, 1956. On completing his studies in chemistry and gaining his doctorate from the Philipps University in Marburg, Germany, he began his professional career at Bayer’s Wolff Walsrode AG subsidiary in 1984, as research chemist and head of a pilot plant for cellulose chemistry. Hartmut Klusik then worked as head of operations in various production areas at Wolff Walsrode. In 1990, he transferred to Bayer AG to be appointed head of crop protection production at Bayer in Brazil. This was followed by further postings abroad in the United States and Australia. In 1997, Hartmut Klusik took charge of crop protection active ingredients production in Dormagen and, in 2002, he took over Bayer CropScience’s Industrial Operations department for active ingredient production in Monheim. In early 2005, he was appointed head of the "Technical Operations Committee" at Bayer HealthCare.
Hartmut Klusik is married and has two children.
