Werner Baumann

Werner Baumann has been a member of the Board of Management of Bayer Schering Pharma AG since September 2006. He is responsible for Human Resources and Labour Director at Bayer Schering Pharma AG.

Werner Baumann was born in Krefeld, Germany, on October 6, 1962. After studying economics in Aachen and Cologne, he joined Bayer AG in Leverkusen in 1988. His first duties were in south-west Europe, in the Corporate Finance Department. In 1991 he transferred to Bayer Hispania Co., in Barcelona, Spain, to take up a position as controller. He moved on to become an assistant to the managing director there in 1995. One year later Baumann moved to the Bayer Corporation in Tarrytown, N.Y., where he became Head of the global organization Business Planning & Administration for the Diagnostics Business Group.

Werner Baumann has been a member of the Executive Committee of Bayer HealthCare (BHC) and Head of Central Administration & Organization since July 1, 2002. He has been a member of the Board of Management of Bayer HealthCare AG since October 1, 2003. He is also Labour Director at BHC AG.
